The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) held its annual All-Star Game at the Family Arena as the game featured MISL International versus the MISL USA comprised of the nine MISL teams. MISL USA defeated MISL International by a final score of 10-1.
MISL USA opened the scoring (1-0) when Paul Wright of the San Diego Sockers found the back of the net off the assist from Todd Dusosky of the Milwaukee Wave at 12:02 of the first quarter.
MISL USA added to its lead (2-0) when Michael King of the Milwaukee Wave came off the bench unnoticed and had a breakaway that resulted in the goal on the outlet pass from goalkeeper Scott Hileman of the Baltimore Blast at 9:37 of the second quarter.
MISL International got on the borad and opened the second half scoring (2-1) when Sinsia Alebic of the Dallas Sidekicks scored the goal off the pass from Vlatko Andonovski of the Kansas City Comets at 5:53 of the third quarter. MISL USA responded (3-1) when Giuliano Celenza stole the ball and scored the unassisted goal at 7:01. MISL USA added to its lead (4-1) when Celenza scored his second goal of the game off the pass from King at 7:49. MISL USA kept the scoring attack going (5-1) when Daryl Doran of the St. Louis Steamers scored the restart goal off the second assist of the game for Todd Dusosky at 9:44. MISL USA closed out the third period scoring (7-1) when Doran scored his second goal of the game and quarter off the pass from Don D'Ambra of the Philadelphia KiXX at 13:42.
MISL USA opened the final quarter scoring (8-1) when Steve Butcher of the St. Louis Steamers found the back of the net off the pass from Wright at 2:16. MISL USA kept the second half scoring rolling (9-1) when Celenza recorded the hat trick on his third goal of the game off the cross from Greg Howe of the Milwaukee Wave at 6:54. MISL USA closed out the scoring (10-1) when D'Ambra scored the goal off the pass from Celenza at 9:06.

The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) hosted its second annual All-Star Game March 9, 2003, from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Eastern Conference All-Star squad comprised of the Baltimore Blast, Cleveland Force, Harrisburg Heat and the Philadelphia KiXX, lost 20-13 to the Western Conference squad made up of the Dallas Sidekicks, Kansas City Comets, Milwaukee Wave and San Diego Sockers, in front of 8,429 fans.
The Most Valuable Player of the Game went to Dino Delevski of the Kansas City Comets who recorded a hat trick and scored the game-winning goal.
The West opened the scoring (3-0) when Alex Zotinca of the Comets scored a three-point goal off the assist from Nino DaSilva of Kansas City at 11:14 of the first quarter. The East got on the board (3-2) when John Ball of the Force scored an unassisted two-point goal at 11:38. The West added to its lead (5-2) when Dino Delevski of the Comets found the back of the net on a volley off the boards from San Diego’s Carlos “Chile” Farias at 12:31.
The East cut the lead to one point (5-4) when P.J. Wakefield of the Blast scored an unassisted two-point goal at 1:35 of the second quarter. The West added to its lead (7-4) when Todd Dusosky of Milwaukee found the back of the net off the cross from Delevski at 8:39.
The West opened the second half scoring (9-4) when Delevski scored his second two-point goal of the game on a volley off the cross from Gaston Pernia of the Sockers at 2:58 of the third quarter. The East snapped a 4-0 run by the West (9-6) when Wakefield scored his second two-point goal of the game off the cross from Don D’Ambra of the KiXX at 8:08. The West quickly responded (6-12) when Lovelace Ackah of the Wave scored a three-point restart goal at 8:44.
The East cut into the lead (12-8) when Pat Morris of Philadelphia scored a two-point goal off the pass from Denison Cabral of the Blast at 3:11 of the final quarter. The East got to within a goal (12-10) when Genoni Martinez scored the penalty kick power play two-point goal at 6:50. The East took its first lead of the game (13-12) when Martinez scored his second goal of the quarter on a three-point blast at 9:48. The West regained the lead (15-13) when Delevski picked up the hat trick on a three-point goal off the pass from Joe Reiniger of Milwaukee at 13:01. The West sealed the game (17-13) when Todd Dusosky scored his second goal of the game against the sixth attacker at 14:48. The West added another three-point goal (20-17) when DaSilva found the back of the net against the sixth attacker at 14:56.

The 2002 MISL All-Star Game was a fantastic showcase of MISL’s superstars before an All-Star Game record crowd of 13,216 and featured playoff-type intensity, tremendous goaltending, and a thrilling overtime victory for the East All-Stars. Philadelphia’s Joel Shanker scored the game-winning goal, assisted by Mark Moser, at 4:36 of the first overtime period en route to being named the 2002 MISL All-Star Game MVP. The East All-Stars had forced overtime via a sixth-attacker goal by Baltimore’s Denison Cabral at 13:06 of the fourth quarter, assisted by Dallas’ indoor soccer-great Tatu, to tie the game at 15-15. Cleveland’s Hector Marinaro surpassed former teammate Zoran Karic to become the all-time leading scorer in All-Star Game history with four points (0-1-0-2), reaching 46 for his career. Baltimore goalkeeper Scott Hileman took the win allowing eight points in 33:37, while Kansas City goalkeeper Chris Damico took the loss giving up 11 points in 34:36. CNN/Sports Illustrated broadcast the game nationally.

The American Conference scored nine unanswered points in the fourth quarter, capped off by John Ball’s game-winning 3-point goal at 11:31, to stun the National Conference, 19-18. The Nationals scored the first 14 points in the game while opening up a 16-4 halftime lead. Down 18-10 early in the fourth quarter, the American’s offense finally sprung into action, with Detroit’s Domenic Mobilio, Cleveland’s Hector Marinaro, Buffalo’s Andrew Crawford, and Cleveland’s Ball scoring the remaining goals. Wichita’s Dino Delevski led all scorers with eight points (1-2-0-1), while teammate Braeden Cloutier added four assists and six points. Baltimore goalkeeper Scott Hileman recorded the win while Wichita goalkeeper Jim Larkin was credited with the loss. Marinaro’s three points in the game moved him into a tie with Zoran Karic for the all-time All-Star Game points lead with 42 career points. Ball was named the game’s Most Valuable Player for his heroics.

Wes Wade (0-3-0-1=7) of Kansas City gave Team USA the initial lead, then helped fuel a furious comeback as the Americans beat Canada in the first NPSL All-Star Game to feature the Team Canada versus Team USA format. Wade, who was named MVP, put the U.S. up 2-0 in the second quarter, but Team Canada then went on a 10-0 run before Team USA rallied to take a 12-10 lead. After Canada tied it midway through the fourth quarter, Milwaukee’s Michael King (0-2-0-2=4) scored 35 seconds later to put the Americans in front to stay. Winning goalkeeper Bryan Finnerty of Detroit made several fine saves to preserve the victory.

Karic was voted MVP. Goalkeeper Peter Pappas of Philadelphia stopped 12 of 15 shots faced and was the winner in relief of Milwaukee’s Victor Nogueira. Mark Moser (0-4-0-0=8) and Ken Snow (0-2-0-0=4) of St. Louis led the host National Conference, which held its only lead at 2-0 on a goal by Moser 1:10 into the game. Two quick goals by Tarik Walker of Baltimore put the Americans ahead to stay.

Marcelo Carrera (0-2-0-2=4) of the Canton Invaders started with a goal 42 seconds into the game and provided a masterful finishing touch with the game-winning goal with 4:52 to play as the American Division edged the National Division, 16-15, before 7,895 fans and an international TV audience on ESPN. Ted Eck of the host Wings led the National Division scoring (0-2-1-0=5) and was voted the game’s MVP. Winning goalkeeper Scoop Stanisic of Harrisburg made 19 saves and his replacement Otto Orf of Cleveland made 13 as the National Conference held a 44-29 shot advantage.

The defending League Champion Canton Invaders defeated the AISA (American Indoor Soccer Association) All-Stars, 9-4. Canton’s Kia Zolgharnain (three goals, one assist) scored the historic first All-Star goal, assisted by Ian Anderson (one goal, three assists) for Canton. Peter Knezic of Milwaukee (one goal, one assist) and Janusz Kieca of Chicago (two assists) led the All-Stars, who were selected from the League’s other five teams. Steve Frick also had two goals and one assist and Jamie Swanner was the winning goalkeeper for the Invaders. Neil Ridgeway of the Kalamazoo Kangaroos scored a short-handed goal 13 seconds into the second half to give the All-Stars a 4-2 lead before Canton scored seven unanswered goals to win it.
