02/15/2010 9:19 PM - MILWAUKEE (Feb. 15, 2010) - The Milwaukee Wave's Jonathan Santos will miss the remainder of the season, Wave coach Keith Tozer said Monday. The 6-foot defender suffered a completely torn ACL in his right knee. The injury was sustained in practice on Feb. 10 as Santos slid into a teammate to steal the ball.
Santos was on pace to surpass his point total from last year, recording two goals and six assists for 11 points, with 12 blocks. His physical play in the back had helped the Wave into second place in the MISL with an 8-6 mark. "We will surely miss Jonathan's aggressive play and we wish him a speedy recovery," Tozer said.
Santos will be placed on the injured reserve list but Tozer said he is uncertain who, if anyone, will be signed to fill the position. |
